The Road to Berlin

The Road to Berlin 2025 is a ride commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day in aid of The Army Benevolent Fund, this is the 6th instalment of this popular event using the same successful formula as previous years.  Riders will cycle 500 miles through Holland and Germany to Berlin in the 80th anniversary year since the end of the war. visiting important sites along the way including the Luneberg Heath memorial where Montgomery accepted the German capitulation in Northern Germany and  Denmark. Overnight outbound ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland and return to Harwich by coach transfer and ferry to arrive early on the last morning are included so all you need to do is fundraise and pedal!

Track the allied forces as they marched on Berlin.

Breakfast, picnic lunch and most dinners included.

Wreath laying at Berlin cemetery.

Day 1

Saturday: Assembly c 7pm, registration and overnight ferry to Holland (no meals included)

Day 2

Sunday: Hook of Holland to Arnhem (about 92 miles) (lunch and dinner included)

Day 3

Monday: Arnhem to Emsburen (about 77 miles) (Breakfast lunch and dinner included)

Day 4

Tuesday: Emsburen to Bremen (about 82 miles) (Breakfast lunch and dinner included)

Day 5

Wednesday: Bremen to Luneburg (about 87 miles) (Breakfast lunch and dinner included)

Day 6

Thursday: Luneburg to Wittenberge (about 75 miles) (Breakfast lunch and dinner included)

Day 7

Friday: Wittenberge to Berlin (about 97 miles) (Breakfast lunch and dinner included)

Day 8

Saturday: Return to Hook of Holland and overnight ferry to Harwich (Breakfast included)

Day 9

Sunday: Arrive Harwich c. 07h00 and dispersal

Travel Information

The event starts at Harwich ferry terminal (early evening Saturday 26 July 2025) where parking is available (payable locally) and which is adjacent to Harwich International rail station. At the end of the event you will be returned here with your bikes (arrival am Sunday 3 August 2025)
